Few regions speak more clearly to The Wine Society’s heritage than Rioja: its wines featured in our earliest Lists and during the intervening years we have built trusted relationships with iconic bodegas, including La Rioja Alta, CVNE and Muga, whose bottles have been enjoyed by generations of members. It is quite fitting, then, that this ‘Ex Château’ offer features wines from these storied bodegas.
Spain buyer Harriet Kininmonth and I are delighted to have secured exclusive access to an impressive range of back vintages, all currently lying in their cellars in Spain, shipped to order and individually labelled to indicate their perfect provenance.

With vintages going back all the way to 1989, this is an incredible opportunity to acquire a piece of history. The combination of age, provenance, pedigree and scarcity makes this a particularly attractive proposition, offering access to perfectly mature bottles that are only becoming more difficult to find. This is a rare chance to discover how Rioja develops over time, safe in the knowledge that these bottles have never left the producers’ cellars and so are in perfect condition.
