White Burgundy Collection
Wines included
Domaine de Montille, Saint-Romain 2019
A very successful vintage in the high-altitude village of Saint-Romain. This is rich and full with ripe, appetising fruit.
Domaine de Bellene, Saint-Romain Vieilles Vignes 2020
An excellent year for this cool vineyard at a high altitude of 376m, which offset the heat and allowed the grapes to ripen well. Made from 1.8ha of vines planted in 1963, this has fresh, appley aromas and a bright, taut palate.
Domaine de la Roche Aiguë, Auxey-Duresses 2021
Bright and fresh barrel-fermented wine offering good value for money from this lesser-known village in a side valley off the main côte, close to Meursault.
François d'Allaines, Auxey-Duresses 2023
Like Saint-Aubin, this side valley situated between Meursault and Monthélie is quite cool and performs well in warm years. Principally from the north-east facing La Boutonniers, which moderates the heat of the vintage, this is rich yet fresh, with a long mid-palate and a fresh finish. Fermented then matured for 18 months in barrel.
Domaine Jérôme Fornerot, Saint-Aubin Champ Tirant 2023
The secluded, narrow valley of Saint-Aubin reduces exposure to light and heat and performs well in warm years. Appley fruit, firm flesh and good finish for a village wine.
The Society's Exhibition Saint-Aubin Blanc 2023
This pretty white Burgundy shows lovely balance, coming from the cool village of Saint-Aubin in a warm year. Ripe yet fresh.
