Château du Glana, Saint-Julien 2019
Red Wine from France - Bordeaux
Claret with a beguiling cedary bouquet and the mellow flavour of barrel-aged fruit. This will give much pleasure for the money. Château du Glana borders the Gironde estuary, and is situated opposite Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, between the hamlets of Beychevelle and Saint-Julien. Built in 1870, it has been owned by the Meffre family since 1961. The 43-hectare vineyard is planted with 65% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot and 5% cabernet franc planted on gravel soil with vines averaging 28 years of age. Harvesting is both by hand and machine and the wine is aged for 12 months in barrel.
