Chavin Zéro Pinot Noir 2023
One of the most convincing alcohol free reds we have tasted, alongside the cabernet merlot from the same producer. Made from pinot noir grown in the south of France, the wine is fully vinified before the alcohol is gently removed, preserving genuine varietal character. It is not grand cru Burgundy, but a very respectable option for nights off alcohol. Light ruby in the glass, the nose shows bramble, mulberry, a hint of blueberry yoghurt and delicate earthy notes, with subtle sweet spice from French oak. The palate is light and properly vinous, with blueberry and bramble fruit, touches of redcurrant and gentle herbaceous complexity, supported by fine tannin and fresh acidity.
