Red Wine from France - Rhone
Being the nephew of the Northern Rhone legend Noël Verset, Franck Balthazar was probably under a lot of pressure to make brilliant wine, but it's no surprise that he does having been able to stand on such great shoulders. Helped by prized vineyards and natural talent, he has gained a huge following for his Cornas. His Côtes-du-Rhône is a beauty that really delivers for the price and is worth exploring. From vineyards around Séguret at altitude and planted to a mix of grenache and syrah, expect abundant bramble fruits and ripe plums combined with supple tannins.
