This is from a star grower in the northern Rhône, with the grapes for this wine coming from the more interesting and complex terroir of the Crozes region in the north where there is mostly granitic soil, just behind the hill of Hermitage. Fruit-forward with brambles and plenty of layers of smoke and pepper combined with melt in your mouth tannins.
