Faugères Les Bastides, Domaine Bardi d'Alquier 2019
This Languedoc blend is dominated by fruit from old syrah vines and the elévage (maturation in the cellars) includes a higher proportion of new oak barrels to create the dark, brooding, ripe, figgy and tarry fruit. The northern Rhône is the inspiration and it delivers well.
