Olivier Leflaive Les Sétilles Bourgogne Blanc 2022

A ripe yet fresh balance of flavours and aromas and a fresh and fruity nose in the apple and melon spectrum leads to a creamy palate with a seam of underlying freshness. About 20% comes from the cooler Hautes Côtes vineyards for freshness, with the rest mainly from vineyards classified as Bourgogne situated on the land below Meursault and Puligny. About 65% is barrel-fermented and kept on its yeast lees for richness, while 35% is tank fermented to capture the freshness.

2025 - 2027

Languedoc-Montpeyroux La Boda, Domaine d'Aupilhac 2020

La Boda means marriage and this wine is indeed a marriage of two different types of vineyard, one at altitude on volcanic rock on limestone, and the other further down on marl and limestone. Long ageing in oak vats brings the two together. Fabulous fruit, rich and full-bodied.

France £32.00 per bottle
2023 - 2030

Roussanne de Madone, Pays d'Urfé, Gilles Bonnefoy 2023

A delightful, dry and rounded roussanne from a rediscovered vineyard in the Massif Central region of France. There is a taste of apple, honey and citrus that is Rhône-like but altogether lighter. Perfect on its own or with prawn stir-fry.

France £25.00 per bottle
2024 - 2027

Three Crows Bridge Pa Hawke's Bay Syrah 2021

A fleshy, sophisticated syrah which captures the earthiness and saline quality of the Hawke’s Bay region. The fruit is generous but pristine and vibrant, with subtle notes of thyme. The tannins are silky, well-integrated and make for a wine which has ample structure and ageability but not at all heavy or dense, but instead is elegant and refined. The finish is long and complex. Olive tapenade, black cherries, violets and plums take on a savoury note on the finish. Drink from 2025 to 2031. 13%

Aslina by Ntsiki Biyela 'Umsasane', Stellenbosch 2022

Predominantly Simonsberg cabernet sauvignon, with portions of cabernet franc and petit verdot, this is a rich and full-bodied Bordeaux-style blend showing ripe blackberry and currant notes with savoury oak notes and a long, dry finish. Open and appealing in youth this can and will age.

South Africa £21.00 per bottle
2026 - 2034

Pinot Gris Heimbourg, Domaine Zind Humbrecht 2018

From a star grower, there’s ginger and white pepper spice combined with fleshy peach and nectarine as well as honey, quince and dried-lemon-peel notes. The saline core and an attractive phenolic grip on the palate adds complexity and texture. Opposite the Brand grand cru, this steep single vineyard with old vines produces concentrated wines. It's a windy site that keeps the acidity in the grapes at the top of the slope where the soil is rocky and the roots go down deep and yields are low giving concentration in the resulting wine. The wine was on its yeast lees for 18 months, giving extra breadth and mouthfeel. After some time in bottle this wine is starting to blossom and reveal itself.
