Familie Mantler Dry Rosé, Niederösterreich 2025

The fresh air of the rolling Austrian hills is captured in this crisp, dry and refreshing pale rosé. Perfect sunshine drinking, with or without access to a swimming pool, this delicate pale-pink has notes of strawberry and raspberry fruit on the nose. The palate is uncomplicated, vibrant and focused, with deliciously mouth-watering zestiness and an apricot twist. Produced by the lovely Mantler family in the little village of Ebersbrunn, around an hour north-west of Vienna, this is made from the zweigelt grape, also known as rotburger. The mouthwatering refreshment on offer here is a delight with a tomato, mozzarella and avocado salad and any other dishes majoring on fresh sun-ripened tomatoes and their tricky-to-match sweet/sharp notes.

Familie Mantler Gemischter Satz, Niederösterreich 2025

We know what you drank last summer… and it’s back! And it's a 2026 Wine Champion to boot. The new vintage of this barnstormingly popular, delicately spritzy Austrian white has won our buyers' blind tasting yet again. With its ‘refreshing, sparky acidity’, ‘exuberant, vibrant fruit’ and low alcohol, it’s an absolute peach of a wine.

The Society's Grüner Veltliner 2025

Crisp, dry Austrian white with aromas of peaches, limes and green apple. The palate is refreshing, with more stone-fruit character, lovely citrus zest and a moreish salinity. Produced especially for The Wine Society by Weingut Stadt Krems, a historic winery owned by the municipality of the city of Krems. It's made from grapes sourced from their vineyard sites across the region, offering a perfect snapshot of the grüner veltliner grape's variety, presented in an upfront and charming style. Designed to be easy drinking and perfect with or without food, this is a charming crowd-pleasing white which offers something a little different to your more famous grape varieties.

The Society's Exhibition Kamptal Grüner Veltliner 2025

Elegant but generous Austrian grüner showing an alluring hint of sweet smokiness on the nose, with yellow fruit and juicy citrus aromas. The palate is fresh, with a delicate opulence, a core of peach and lime zest and a mouthwatering twist of pepper and ginger spice on the finish. Willi is a kind, gentle man, a legendary figure in Austrian wine, and he has been behind our Exhibition Grüner Veltliner for around a decade now and the quality has been consistently excellent, as one would expect from such an esteemed winery.

Christina & Rainer Wess 'Tochter & Vater’ Grüner Veltliner 2025

'Tochter & Vater' is a delicious entry point to a new range from the outstanding father and daughter duo of Rainer and Christina Wess. It's a charming, yellow-fruit-laden wine, fresh with the fragrance of peaches, sappy pine, zesty lemon and a hint of apricot. The palate is crisp, dry and refreshing with a generosity of fruit, where the lemony zip and juicy peach flavours make the mouth water. The finish remains crisp and surprisingly long. A lovely wine to pair with food, particularly fried/roast chicken, rich creamy dishes or soft cheeses. Equally delicious, however, on its own.

The Society's Austrian Riesling 2025

With delicate aromas of orange blossom and quince, this is a fine example of the crisp, dry style of riesling Austria does so well. Perfect on its own, with seafood, creamy dishes or, naturally, schnitzel. Produced for us by Weingut Stadt Krems, who are renowned for the incredible value and delicious charm of their wines, this is a refreshingly dry white wine with a lovely fruity core.
