German Kabinett Rieslings 2021 Case

Bewitchingly gorgeous riesling from a famous and very steep vineyard that overlooks the diminutive Ruwer river. Racy, peachy citrus fruit with a touch of blackcurrant.

Traditionally the local abbot had the heart of the best bit of the great Grünhaus vineyard and its wine always has a distinctive haunting fragrance enhanced by the wild yeasts special to the estate.

The Bishop of Trier owns an amazing portfolio of vineyards in the Mosel, such as the very steep Kupp in the village of Ayl. This is has a lovely fruity and floral nose with delightful finesse and well-balanced sweetness on the palate.

This comes from a new Von Hovel vineyard which once belonged to the Grünhaus estate. The 'S' stands for Silberberg and is very close to the Niermenniger Herrenberg. Concentrated with plenty of weight in a richer style than most Kabinetts, and from a tiny production. Mouthwatering.

Thomas Haag produced some outstanding wines in this vintage and has to be one of the stars of the Mosel. This is just brilliant, with lovely, ripe, citrusy fruit and great precision.

'V' stands for Vogelsang, a vineyard that is right next to the Schloss that is always a very reliable kabinett, with a touch of crab apple about the flavour.
