A. A. Badenhorst Curator White, Coastal Region 2024

Not many under-£10 whites can be described as ‘the whole package, with so many layers and a pleasing balance of freshness and texture.' However, that’s exactly what how our Wine Champions tasters summed up this incredible-value, chenin-led, stone-fruited blend from a South African star. With the texture and rich apricot fruit to handle spice, this is a delight.

Dorsia Organic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2025

One of the most exciting discoveries from buyer Freddy Bulmer’s 2025 New Zealand trip, this organically produced sauvignon blanc offers top-class Marlborough quality at a remarkable price. It’s increasingly rare to find wines of this calibre from the region for under £10, making this a real coup. Crafted by respected winemaker David Tyney, an Adelaide-born talent with experience at Yalumba and Giesen, Dorsia is a joint venture with his brother Adam, focusing on producing high-quality, affordable sauvignon blanc with purity and restraint and bucking the trend for exaggerated, tropical styles. Farming organically, they look instead for balance and freshness and the result is a pristine, mouthwatering wine with aromas of fresh apple and salted lime. The palate is crisp, zesty and refreshing, with juicy fruit, saline acidity and a subtle herbal lift, showcasing fruit from both the Southern Valleys and Wairau sub-regions. Family-owned, thoughtfully made and outstanding value.

Familie Mantler Gemischter Satz, Niederösterreich 2025

Gemischter Satz is a traditional Austrian dry white wine style; historically a field blend of various varieties which would have been drunk as a house wine. This example, from the delightful Mantler family, is a delicious take on the style and is fruity, dry and easy drinking with a delicate spritz that makes it extra refreshing. Made up of 80% grüner veltliner, 15% müller-thurgau and 5% muskateller, this is fragrant and charming. It has a peachy and orange-blossom character on the nose and a focused, fresh and zesty palate. A good, honest and charming wine which is a perfect fridge door staple. This 2025 vintage is the exact same blend as the 2024 but is arguably even be more delicious, thanks to the more favourable growing season – happy days!

The Society's Chilean Limarí Chardonnay 2024

This crisp and refreshing wine is made exclusively for us by Concha y Toro's brilliant winemakers Marcelo Papa and Ignacio Recabarren. Limarí is now regarded as Chile's pre-eminent region for chardonnay. The grape thrives here due to the Pacific`s strong cooling influence, low rainfall and the soils, which contain limestone. Some stirring of the yeast lees is done to add richness to the palate, and the wine is unoaked to avoid masking its bright citrus fruit and typical hint of minerality. To cap it all, Concha y Toro are a leader in more sustainable working practices with strategies to reduce energy and water use, environmental projects including increasing biodiversity, and many local community initiatives. The Chilean bellflower (or lapageria rosea), known locally as copihue, adorns the label and is the national flower of Chile. Please note. this wine is bottled without a capsule.

Cuvée Laborie Blanc, Vin de France 2025

A partner to complement the ever-popular Laborie red, this is a dry white made from 100% sauvignon gris grown in the cooler Gascony region, an area noted for its crisp dry whites. Whistle clean and with classic sauvignon character.

France £8.25 per bottle

Grillo, Sicilia, Feudo Arancio 2025

Easy-going sunny Sicilian grillo showing apricot and pink-grapefruit notes with a touch of saltiness on the refreshing finish, unsurprising for vines growing so close to the sea. This is a great match to Sicilian roasted vegetables. It comes from a region with serious water problems, and the forward-thinking cooperative behind the wine has taken great strides to reduce water usage through, for example, the use of drip irrigation.
