London - Henschke Wine Dinner with Johann Henschke
Join us at Hawksmoor Spitalfields for an exceptional evening celebrating one of Australia's great family wineries, hosted by sixth-generation winemaker Johann Henschke.
Over a specially created three-course dinner, Johann will guide us through a selection of Henschke's wines, culminating in a rare opportunity to compare multiple vintages of the celebrated Mount Edelstone Vineyard Shiraz alongside the main course. Throughout the evening, he'll share the stories behind Henschke's historic vineyards, generations of family stewardship and the philosophy that has made the estate one of Australia's most respected producers.
Founded in 1868, Henschke has remained in family ownership for more than 150 years, building an international reputation for wines of exceptional quality, longevity and a profound sense of place. Today, Johann represents the sixth generation of the family, bringing both a deep understanding of Henschke's remarkable heritage and a fresh perspective shaped by winemaking experience around the world.
This promises to be a relaxed and engaging evening, with plenty of opportunity to hear directly from Johann about the history of the estate, the challenges of modern viticulture and the stories behind the wines in your glass. Our team will help members learn the building blocks of how the flavours and sensations in food and wine interact. The menus for the events are usually provided on registration but do let us know of any dietary or seating requirements.
Do you send physical tickets or is it all e-tickets?
We no longer send out physical tickets for our events. An email confirming registration will be sent to the member who has purchased the ticket(s) and this email can be used as confirmation upon arrival at the event.
Can I bring a non-member?
Yes. Tickets must be booked by a member, but you are welcome to bring non-member guests.
Do I need to know lots about wine to attend?
Absolutely not! Our events target a range of experience and knowledge levels, and we try to make this clear on our event pages. If you’re unsure if an event is for you, simply contact tastings@thewinesociety.com and we will try to help.
Do I get a discount on wines after events?
After our ‘in person’ events, we offer attendees a 10% discount on the wines we have shown, subject to availability. You will be provided with a private code after attending the event to redeem the discount
