Red Wine from Chile - Rapel
This is one of Chile's best carmenères. It is made from coolish hillside vineyard for this variety, a tiny northwest facing1.54ha plot situated at 480m and planted to 9000 vines/ha, a high density for |Chile. The site produces a wine withe plum and cedar aspects, with a hint of cloves mich more drinkable than the very ripe jammy styles. This is ripe and powerful but also fresh and balanced. Matured 18 months in barrel to develop aromas and complexity.
