Niepoort 'Redoma' Reserva Branco, Douro 2024
White Wine from Portugal - Douro Valley
An opulent yet beautifully focused blend of Portuguese varieties including rabigato, viosinho and arinto, the nose is restrained but expressive, opening with delicate floral notes, honeysuckle and ripe apricot supported by subtle citrus lift. The palate is broad and mouth coating, delivering impressive richness while remaining precise and controlled. Fully fermented and aged in French oak barrels for nine months, with malolactic fermentation completed in full, the wine has a creamy texture and layered depth. Despite this generosity it retains impressive energy, with bright acidity providing drive and definition. There is a sense of richness and concentration reminiscent of Meursault, but with a distinctive Portuguese spice and mineral character that brings its own identity. Sourced from vineyards more than 80 years old, at around 600 metres above sea level, the wine combines intensity with remarkable poise.
