Online - Sip-Size Sessions: Beyond Châteauneuf-du-Pape - Other Crus of S Rhone
As one of the most recognisable wine appellations on the planet, Châteauneuf-du-Pape has always worn the crown in the southern Rhône. But it is only one of nine ‘cru’ wines in the region and in this session we’ll explore the other eight, giving them some well-deserved time in the spotlight.
After explaining what unites the region in terms of terroir and climate, we’ll touch on all the crus, explaining the styles of wine permitted and the nuances that make them different. After that it’s time to dive deeper into some of the most under-valued crus (and Anna’s personal favourites) Gigondas, Cairanne and Vinsobres.
The three wines that Anna will be using in the session will be released on 26th August. You’re welcome to buy one, two or all three; or simply join with a cup of tea!
