Szekszárd Bikavér, Szeleshát 2017
Red Wine from Hungary
Szekszárd Bikavér (aka Bull's Bood) is lighter in colour and more aromatic than its Eger counterpart, and this is a wonderful example from a talented young female winemaker. A blend of kékfrankos, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon, merlot and kadarka this has savoury spice notes on the nose with hints of rose petal, dried cranberries and strawberries on the palate with light tannins and refreshing acidity.

Hugely popular at our recent Hungarian tasting - this predominantly Kekfrankos/ Kadarka blend has cherry fruit, plum with spice, silky velvety tannins - very elegant for the price. £
