I wish more producers would follow The Wine Society’s example and use recycled PET (polyethylene terephthalate) flat bottles. These are easy to chill and transport, have a much lower carbon footprint than glass and are 100 per cent recyclable. The best in the range is the 2023 The Society’s Beaujolais Villages, with masses of vibrant crimson purple beetrooty fruit.
