More on the wine
When it came to our limited-edition range to celebrate our 150th birthday, we wanted to find a special pinot grigio that combined the friendly, pocket-friendly charm this grape became known for allied with cut-above quality and gastronomic versatility. We found it on speaking to Alberto Marchiso at the historic Gambellara co-op. He was certainly up for it and the result is this gorgeous exclusive bottling.
The grapes come from the slopes of an ancient volcanic caldera in the Lessini Mountains at 250 to 350m above sea level. The Cantina of Gambellara was founded in 1947 and has nearly 300 members farming 600 hectares in the small denomination on the border between the provinces of Vicenza and Verona, only a few miles east of Soave. The latter is much the bigger region and Gambellara is a little-known appellation outside of Italy, but the locals love it. And so do we.

They merged in 2015 with the Cantina dei Colli Vicentini and the talented Alberto Marchisio is now responsible for winemaking using fruit grown on the local volcanic soils.
