Weingut Knoll is one of the Wachau's most revered names, with a reputation for producing rieslings with incredible complexity, longevity and finesse. The cooler conditions of the 2024 vintage have resulted in a wine with marked precision, where vibrant citrus and crunchy orchard fruit take centre stage, underlined by delicate floral notes and a fresh, stony minerality. While Smaragd is famous for its depth and concentration, this is a more restrained and classically proportioned expression, with bright acidity and crystalline freshness driving the palate from start to finish. Focused, energetic and beautifully defined, it is a superb example of why Knoll remains a benchmark for top-class Wachau riesling, with all the balance and structure to develop gracefully in bottle.
