From the steep, sun-drenched terraces of Loibenberg, one of the Wachau’s most prized vineyards, comes this crystalline riesling Federspiel from the legendary Emmerich Knoll. The 2024 vintage, shaped by a cooler growing season, has delivered a wine of striking purity and tension, fragrant and lifted, with aromas of white peach, lime blossom, wet stone and a hint of jasmine. The palate is taut and linear, with vibrant acidity and a core of juicy citrus and stone fruit, and a saline, mineral edge that speaks clearly of Loibenberg’s rocky soils. The dry, focused finish leaves the mouth refreshed and wanting more. While it shows immediate charm, there’s no shortage of structure or depth, making it a versatile partner at the table or a delightful aperitif. A beautifully made, classically styled Wachau riesling that offers both finesse and authenticity in equal measure.
