Riesling Silberberg de Rorschwihr, Domaine Rolly Gassmann 2021

In a style of its own with definite sweetness, this is a lovely riesling: perfectly balanced, fruity, spicy and long. Would go well with spice-rubbed salmon or slow-cooked pork belly from the barbecue. Pierre Gassmann only releases wines when they are ready to drink, with over one million bottles lying in his cellars waiting to reach their prime!

Pinot Blanc, Domaine Albert Boxler 2023

Jean Boxler is regarded as one of the best Alsace growers, producing wines with real character and regional expression. A mineraldriven and focused white, combining 65% auxerrois and 35% pinot blanc. Expect white florals, citrus and grapefruit with a salinity and restrained fruit concentration that lasts for a long time in the mouth.

France £26.00 per bottle

Gewurztraminer Grossi Laüe, Famille Hugel 2014

Grossi Laüe means 'great growth' in the Alsace dialect and the Hugels are known for their long-lived gewürztraminers. This powerful and impressive wine from the famous Sporen vineyard shows that both facts are deliciously applicable. It's a sensuous wine with complex notes of spice and citrus zest in a soft, plush texture.

France £35.00 per bottle
2016 - 2027

Pinot Noir Clos Saint Landelin, Muré 2023

A wine of concentration and layers of complexity with lots of spice and wild flower perfume. Aged in 500-litre demi-muid barrels, the tannins are structured and classy. You will not be disappointed if you age this wine for a little while. It comes from a special monopole, i.e. solely owned by the family, a 330-metres altitude site on limestone iron-rich soils where the vines were sourced from Tollot-Beaut in Burgundy, and the 'clos' is perfectly situated within the southern end of the grand cru Vorbourg vineyard. The vineyard has real pedigree having been considered, officially, among the best in Alsace as long ago as the 8th century CE.

Les Vignes de Precheur, Domaine Weinbach 2023

A great place to start when exploring Alsace, this is a blend of riesling, auxerrois, pinot gris, sylvaner and muscat from an exciting estate. It's crisp and lively and offers plenty of citrus, white flowers and peach combined with quince and just a touch of lime on the finish.

Pinot Gris Heimbourg, Domaine Zind Humbrecht 2018

From a star grower, there’s ginger and white pepper spice combined with fleshy peach and nectarine as well as honey, quince and dried-lemon-peel notes. The saline core and an attractive phenolic grip on the palate adds complexity and texture. Opposite the Brand grand cru, this steep single vineyard with old vines produces concentrated wines. It's a windy site that keeps the acidity in the grapes at the top of the slope where the soil is rocky and the roots go down deep and yields are low giving concentration in the resulting wine. The wine was on its yeast lees for 18 months, giving extra breadth and mouthfeel. After some time in bottle this wine is starting to blossom and reveal itself.
