Domaine Bernard Métrat, Chiroubles La Scandaleuse 2019
Red Wine from France - Beaujolais
From a property better known for its Fleurie wines, this is scented Chiroubles at its very best. Almost pinot noir-like with its delicately perfumed bouquet and appeal. It certainly appealed to member Philip P. who reviewed it as follows on 11 March 2022: 'Delicious, delicately scented wine…an excellent example of Chiroubles and definitely recommended'.

Wine of the Week: Perfumed as a rose, light yet textural. A future classic.

With earthy aromas and very pronounced initial fruitiness, [this wine] has floral cherry and red plum flavours, coupled with good acidity and a shrewdly compiled cocktail of cinnamon, mint and thyme components.
Lightish crimson. Beautifully scented with bright, red fruit and lead pencil. A sour but attractive freshness, light, fine tannins with a slightly chewy finish. Good value. 16/20
