Grace Bridge Californian Pinot Noir 2015

Red Wine from USA - California
0 star rating 0 Reviews
This is a real treat from California made by the Scotto family based in Lodi, the northern part of California's Central Valley. The pinot (with tiny amounts of syrah and alicante bouschet) is sourced from cooler vineyard sites in Monterey and Sonoma. Light to medium-bodied with raspberry and red-fruit character and a twist of spice from a short time in oak barrels, this has lovely freshness combined with a smooth, pleasing finish. Enjoy before or after the meal with soft cheeses or mains such as roast chicken, guinea fowl or grilled or baked salmon. Special EXPLORE bottle price until Sunday, 9th December. Just one bottle at the discounted price.

California Vintage 2015

2105 across the USA can be summed up fairly simply - early, quick, clean and intense!

It was a good fruit driven vintage in California. 2015 marks a fourth year of drought conditions across the region. A warm start to the season accelerated bud break and a few hot spells through August meant that picking started as early as the middle of the month. Yields were generally down due to the shortage of water, leading to very concentrated small berries.

2015 also follows the current trend for premium winemakers seeking fresher styles of wine (which earlier picking encourages).
