A tribute to Henschke’s pioneering second-generation winemaker, Cyril Henschke is a flagship expression of Eden Valley cabernet sauvignon. The 2021 vintage, shaped by a long, even growing season, has delivered a wine of clarity, precision and classic varietal character. Aromas of cassis, mulberry and redcurrant are layered with tobacco leaf, cedar, graphite and a subtle earthy lift. The palate is finely structured, with beautifully ripe tannins and a core of dark fruit wrapped in refined oak. There’s a real sense of energy and restraint here, with bright acidity and mineral drive giving length and tension to the finish. Matured for 18 months in a mix of new and seasoned French oak, this is a wine that showcases both site and season, capturing the cooler side of Eden Valley with polish and finesse. A true collector’s wine, Cyril Henschke 2021 is built to age gracefully over the next two decades or more. Drink from 2027 to 2045. 14.5%
