Geyerhof
Records for this family estate date to 1135 and, unusually, it has often passed from mother to daughter. With a rich history, it was even managed in the 1920s by Georg Ritter von Trapp of The Sound of Music fame! Today, Josef Maier, who took over from his mother Ilse, runs the estate with his wife Maria. They continue a deep commitment to biodynamic farming, working the vineyards with great care, including with their two shire horses. Fermentations are long and slow, and the wines are entirely basket pressed. The results are pristine, pure and finely detailed, with impressive complexity. Remarkable value for the level of craftsmanship and patience involved.
