Schloss Gobelsburg
This is one of Austria’s oldest wineries, with monastic roots and vineyards dating to 1171. Now led by Michael Moosbrugger, who also heads Austria’s vineyard classification, the estate sets the benchmark for classic Austrian fine wine style. The wines are typically picked later, giving greater richness and breadth, balanced by vibrant acidity and resulting in textured, ageworthy, more ‘baroque’ examples. The 2025 vintage marks Moosbrugger’s 30th at this leading name in Austrian fine wine.
