But I LOVE this example from a star grower, who manages to bring salinity and tanginess in the glass with fresh peach, mango and orange peel providing the volume. Pure, focused and generous. A spine-tinglingly good white from a star grower, who sadly only has 0.25 hectares of Hermitage white in the Maison Blanche lieu-dit. Saline and focused with white blossom and charming waxy texture. This classy wine is truly beguiling. Drink from 2027 to 2036. 13.5%

A southern Rhône IGP blend of clairette, marsane, picpoul, ugni blanc, viognier and bourboulenc. A fresh style with tension and salinity. Drink from 2027 to 2029. 13.5%

From 40+ year-old vines, this roussanne-dominant white has an attractive oily texture combined with quince, white peach and tangerine notes and an evident touch of salinity on the finish. Drink from 2027 to 2030. 13.5%

From old vines located next to Château Rayas, this blend of grenache blanc and bourboulenc really shows how good Châteauneuf whites can be in 2024. It has the density you’d expect from a southern white, with an attractive phenolic grip and a mineral core that brings tension and freshness. Drink from 2027 to 2030. 13.5%

Marie Perret is now in charge of the estate, although her dad often opens up the winery first thing! She has inherited his talent and the wines ooze class and perfection. This cuvée comes from their most prized vineyard, with very low-yielding vines between 50 and 80 years old. Despite the texture and weight you expect from viognier, you get a mineral precision and pithiness on the palate, too. Lighter than the 2023, this is one for lovers of a more restrained style of Condrieu. Drink from 2027 to 2033. 14.5%
