Bodegas Peñalba López Torremilanos Crianza, Ribera del Duero 1995
From the long-established, but little known estate, Bodegas Peñalba López in Ribera del Duero, this beautifully mature Crianza comes from a perfectly preserved parcel acquired from the cellar of a traditional delicatessen just outside Barcelona. Three decades of bottle age have brought complex, mature character whilst retaining freshness and acidity. Aromas of cassis, red liquorice and dried blue fruits interplay with subtle mint, toast and woodsmoke. Lively with tangy acidity which lifts the sweet core of mature fruit, before a long, savoury finish.
