Château Cissac, Haut-Médoc 2021
Red Wine from France - Bordeaux
The welcome is always warm at Château Cissac and the wines never disappoint. 57% cabernet sauvignon, 33% merlot and 5% petit verdot and 5% malbec all add up to make a very complete wine with pleasing balance and finesse, and an underlying sweetness born of ripe cabernet. Benchmark left-bank claret, this will certainly appeal to the many members who follow it. Drink from 2026 to 2035. 12.5%

Chateau Cissac
Cissac is a traditional property in the Haut-Médoc that has been in the Vialard family for generations. It was Louis Vialard, who inherited it in 1940, who made the reputation of the wines particularly strong in the UK. Cissac is now run by his granddaughter Marie Vialard. It is known for producing consistently good, old-style Médoc wines in a firm yet fragrant style. This has been a property to follow for those who like traditional claret. The second wine, Reflets du Château Cissac offers particularly good value. In the best vintages, the wines are complex but undoubtedly need cellaring to show their best. The vineyards are planted with around 75% cabernet sauvignon, 20% merlot and 5% petit verdot. An increasing amount of new wood (up to 40%) is used to age the wines.
