More on the wine
Something of a local legend, Ben Glover. Ben is a winemaker well-worth following. Since launching his career in 1995, he has worked at several top New Zealand estates, including Wither Hills, and was an inaugural 2001 Len Evans scholar. He has spent years honing his considerable skills, all the while working as a highly respected judge at national and international competitions. Today Ben continues to be innovative and questioning, and we’re delighted he worked with us on this wine.
Few wines have enjoyed such a meteoric rise to fame as Marlborough sauvignon, bursting onto the scene in the mid-eighties and rapidly becoming one of the best-loved wine styles on the planet. Its potential was something The Wine Society was quick to recognise, and we were one of the first in the UK to put it under our own label. Ben’s wine is special example, a winning combination of the skill of one of the region’s star winemakers and fruit from vineyard sites carefully selected by Ben for their premium fruit. It’s wine that both celebrates and typifies Marlborough sauvignon.
