A great entry in to our Port offer from a new but incredibly ambitious Douro winery, owned by South African Marc Kent (of Chocolate Block and Boekenhoutskloof fame) and Douro local Rita Marques. Produced from a field blend of varieties from very old vineyards near their winery in Vale do Torto, this is a deep and intense Port, with notes of pepper, redberry and cassis. The palate is full, with a savoury slate edge and rounded mid-palate. Less complex than some of the bigger names in the offer but a great taste of the quality of this exceptional vintage from a winery which is certainly one worth watching.
