A structured and mouth-filling white, Heaven & Hell is Xosé Lois Sebio's take on a traditional Ribeiro white. Made using grapes from 20-70 year-old vines, he blends fruit from carefully selected vineyards across the region. The combination of cooler, elevated sites and warmer, drier vineyards, together with a range of soil types, gives the wine its depth and complexity. Predominantly treixadura and albariño with a touch of godello, the blend stays true to Ribeiro's tradition of field blends rather than varietal wines. The grapes are sourced from a patchwork of old clay and granite-based vineyards in Gomariz. Fermented and aged for ten months in large, used French vats, without malolactic fermentation, this is a memorable and distinctive white. The nose opens with floral notes of white blossom and chamomile, layered over hints of hay, green apple and aromatic herbs. The palate is structured yet refined, with real depth and length. A rare Galician white that’s both intensely characterful and effortlessly drinkable. The striking label takes inspiration from Ronnie James Dio's Heaven & Hell, reimagining the angels and devils from the song's iconic artwork. The angel represents the wine's elegance and finesse, while the devil reflects the intense summer heat that shapes the vineyards and drives ripeness in the fruit. Drink this year to 2032. 13.5%
