Coelheiros Branco, Alentejo 2024
White Wine from Portugal - Tejo
A charming apricot, lemon-and-herb-scented blend of 80% native arinto with antão vaz which can produce wines of impressive purity and freshness. A crisp and lively palate with creamy stone-fruit and lemon-zest flavours. This organic estate is on of our Wine society Pioneers for its efforts in more sustainable production, with biodiversity a key plank of their approach. They own 600ha of forest and an orchard of walnut trees where bat houses have been installed alongside perches for eagles and falcons, and creek streams are planted with native flora for birds, insects and butterflies to thrive in. People are looked after too, with seasonal workers given insurance, health checks and contracts, and they return to the estate year after year.
