Lewes - Loire growers walkaround
Join us for a summer walkaround event highlighting the vinous fruits of the ‘jardin de France’. The complex geology and diverse climates along France’s longest river serve up a fabulous variety of wine styles. Whether bone-dry Muscadet from near the mouth of the river and crisp sauvignon blancs from the bend around Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé via age-worthy chenin blancs, or cool, poised, fragrant reds made from pinot noir, cabernet franc or gamay, there is something for everyone. And don’t forget the classic sparkling wines of Saumur.
With this choice of white or red, still or sparkling and dry, off-dry or sweet, very few other regions could meet the demands of a complete tasting menu, from aperitif to dessert. In this celebration of the Loire we assemble 32 to try, poured for you by their growers and makers. The wines are listed below, coming from the vineyards of:
Maison Chéreau Carré, Domaine Huchet, Domaine Cady, Gratien et Meyer, Domaine Ratron, Domaine de la Noblaie, Domaine Bruno Sourdais, Domaine de la Taille aux Loups, Domaine de la Renaudie, Maison Bougrier, Domaine Cailbourdin and Domaine Serge Laloue.
