Primitivo di Manduria Riserva, San Moro 2020
This rich, full-bodied, blackberry and bramble-scented primitivo from Italy benefits from ageing in large wooden botti and in bottle, which has softened the structure and allowed a little spice to develop. It comes from a co-operative who specialise in primitivo in the heartland of the grape variety, Manduria. With nearly 1,000 hectares of vines to choose from, and a thoroughly modern approach to winemaking, the co-op’s 400 growers have a strong sense of pride in what they produce.
