From ex-Wither Hills winemaker Ben Glover, this stands out from the Marlborough crowd for its perfect use of oak barrels and subtle toasty note on the nose. Flinty, complex and with plenty of personality, this is a taut chardonnay with citrus, spice and a mealy savoury character.

A prime example of the fresh, red-fruited and delicately floral pinot which is done so well in Marlborough, New Zealand. Made for us by icon of the region, Ben Glover, this is an elegant Chambolle-esque pinot, with crushed strawberry, cherry and rose-petal notes on the nose. The palate is crunchy, energetic and lifted.

Brian and Nicola Bicknell made wine in France, Chile and Hungary before starting Mahi, with the first vintage being in 2006. Before Mahi though, Brian had been heavily involved in shaping top-quality Marlborough as we know it today and is one of the most recognised, loved and respected winemakers in the region. While his sauvignon blanc, chardonny and pinot noir are well placed amongst the best examples in Marlborough, this delicious pinot gris often flies under the radar. Having visited Brian in New Zealand a few times and having enjoyed this wine on every visit, buyer Freddy Bulmer thought it ripe for adding to our range. This is an excellent example of pinot gris/grigio made in a style which balances texture and substance with charm and drinkability. The nose has a delicately floral character and peachy aromatics. The palate is juicy, generous and ripe, with more peachy character and honeysuckle notes, all while remaining crisp and fresh. A great all-rounder, delicious on its own or paired with delicately spiced aromatic foods.

Ripe, juicy but fresh and elegant, Grove Mill's 2024 pinot opens with a lifted perfume of dark cherry, wild strawberry and boysenberry, laced with violets and subtle spice. A hint of smoky French oak and gentle earthiness add depth without overshadowing the fruit. The palate is silky and precise, with concentrated berry flavours from the ripe and charming 2024 harvest in Marlborough, a season marked by dry, sunny days, cool nights and exceptionally clean fruit. This natural concentration is balanced by bright mouth-watering zestiness, giving freshness and length. Supple tannins frame a finish that lingers on red-berry purity and savoury complexity. Grove Mill’s sustainable, low-intervention approach delivers a pinot that is generous yet elegant, approachable now but with the structure to develop beautifully over the next few years. It's a stunner matched with coq au vin or a mushroom bourguignon, and sings with a rack of spring lamb with a herb crust.

One of the most exciting discoveries from buyer Freddy Bulmer’s 2025 New Zealand trip, this organically produced sauvignon blanc offers top-class Marlborough quality at a remarkable price. It’s increasingly rare to find wines of this calibre from the region for under £10, making this a real coup. Crafted by respected winemaker David Tyney, an Adelaide-born talent with experience at Yalumba and Giesen, Dorsia is a joint venture with his brother Adam, focusing on producing high-quality, affordable sauvignon blanc with purity and restraint and bucking the trend for exaggerated, tropical styles. Farming organically, they look instead for balance and freshness and the result is a pristine, mouthwatering wine with aromas of fresh apple and salted lime. The palate is crisp, zesty and refreshing, with juicy fruit, saline acidity and a subtle herbal lift, showcasing fruit from both the Southern Valleys and Wairau sub-regions. Family-owned, thoughtfully made and outstanding value.

The 2024 Marlborough vintage delivers freshness and precision and this is a fine expression of it. The nose is juicy and inviting, with stone fruit, crisp apple and a subtle kiwi fruit lift. On the palate it is lean and focused but full of energy, showing ripe pear, lemon and lime framed by bright, mouthwatering acidity.
