Double Magnum of Château Ormes de Pez, Saint-Estèphe 2025

Code: CM34725 In Stock
Red
Ormes de Pez is undoubtedly one of the value picks of the vintage, punching well above its price and Cru Bourgeois status. Reminiscent of the 2016, which recently excelled against far grander properties in the annual Southwold blind tastings, the 2025 is pure pleasure. Tasted three times over the course of the week, it consistently impressed us with its opulence, generosity of fruit and deep, brambly bass notes. There’s a thrilling interplay between the sweetness of the fruit and the gentle bitterness of the tannins and oak, culminating in a blood-orange citrus finish. A blend of 58% merlot, 35% cabernet sauvignon, 4% cabernet franc and 3% petit verdot with 20% new oak, this is a wine that offers immense pleasure from the outset, yet promises to become even better with time. Drink from 2032 to 2046. Bottles (CM34721 @ £102 per six) and magnums (CM34724 @ £111 per three) available. 13.2%
