Top Bordeaux 2025 En Primeur: Ségla Margaux

After a two-year hiatus, we’re delighted to once again offer Ségla – the second wine of Second Growth Château Rauzan-Ségla – as a UK en primeur exclusive for 2025. Consistently one of the best-value second wines in Bordeaux, Ségla is sourced from vineyards surrounding the historic heart of the estate and crafted with the same rigorous attention to detail as the grand vin. Typically featuring a higher proportion of merlot and a gentler influence of new oak, Ségla offers a more approachable, earlier-drinking expression of Margaux while – in great vintages such as 2025 – still rewarding careful cellaring. A blend of 58.5% merlot, 41% cabernet sauvignon, and 0.5% petit verdot, the 2025 bursts from the glass with aromas of cherries, redcurrants and damsons, leading to a silky, softly structured palate with moderate body but impressive intensity and concentration.
