Domaine Mortet
Medium-bodied wines of great persistence on the palate from a master vigneron, whose dedication in this challenging year was duly rewarded by wonderful quality in spite of the conditions. The domaine, which comprises only the vineyards owned by the proprietor, retains Arnaud’s father’s name Denis. Arnaud Mortet harvested 10-15hl/ha at around 12% potential alcohol and chaptalised by about 1%. It was coulure (shatter) rather than mildew that reduced yields so severely. Lovely wines of top class.
