Les Retraits is the vineyard next to Mugnier's Nuits premier cru Clos de la Maréchale. Because the vineyard falls into the neighbouring commune of Comblanchien it enjoys a lowly appellation, Côte de Nuits-Villages, but is a superb wine made from old vines planted between1925 and 1932 . Lovely gentle, silky texture. Its become something of a cult wine with a price to match but we are offering it at a very fair price. Drink from 2027 to 2034. 14%

Jérôme Galeyrand is a very talented grower first introduced to us by Sylvain Pataille. His best wine is made from vines planted in 1925 and 1932, in the Les Retraits vineyard, which lies just outside the walls of Nuits premier cru Clos de la Maréchale yet is classed Côte de Nuits. This is a superb wine which transcends its origins. Fine and silky old vine texture from a superb vintage. It has become something of a cult wine. There are some very high speculative prices on the web but ours are priced very competitively. Drink from 2027 to 2034. 13.5%
